Small Business Development
Are you an entrepreneur or emerging small business owner looking for reasonably priced space and some technical assistance? Perhaps you should consider the Wilmington Business Center (WBC). The WBC is a 12,000 square foot small business incubator / accelerator designed to foster the growth of businesses by providing affordable office, warehouse and light industrial space, linked with essential support services. Completed in 1995, the incubator was 100% occupied for several years. Consequently many business owners are not aware of or may have forgotten about its existence. However, over the years several companies have graduated from the incubator, experienced significant growth and have become very successful. Among these companies are: DMS Progressive Services, Atlantic Services and Music Library Service Company (MLSC).
The CDC is accepting applications from businesses wishing to enter the program. In addition to providing below market rental rates, the CDC in cooperation with UNCW’s Small Business Technology Development Center (SBTDC) and Cape Fear Community College’s Small Business Center, can provide assistance to incubator tenants in formulating a business plan, seeking financing, incorporating proven management practices, managing inventory and payroll, adopting an effective marketing strategy and acquiring other essential business skills.
If you would like to visit the incubator and/or discuss the possibility of obtaining space, call Stan Turner at 910.762.7555 or click “I Need Assistance’ below to send us an email.
