State Home Foreclosure Prevention Project
The State Home Foreclosure Prevention Project was created by the General Assembly in 2008 to reduce foreclosures in North Carolina. It is administered by the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency (NCHFA), a self-supporting public agency. Homeowners receive a foreclosure help letter from the N.C. Housing Finance Agency, urging them to call a toll-free number to receive free counseling, access to legal services if their income is low and assistance working with servicers.
Cape Fear Regional CDC is a partner agency of NCHFA providing assistance to homeowners through this program.
